pupa #1 - at Curiousity Iron River, 2025

pupa is an on-site installation series, which concept is to act like a larva, finding stable structures to pull the strings across the space, forming an unsure pupa that to be decided by the conversation between me and the architectural factors.

tony, 2025

tony is tony,

he is a friendly good guy with a mirror to greet the viewers.

Golden Liquid, 2024

Collaboration with Tong Fung Chuar, using the Malaysian folklore figure of the 'oil ghost' as its prototype, composing discarded motor tools connected with burlap symbolizing biological skin, forming an imagined industrial process and narrative. It reconstructs a narrative based on the social contradictions and crises caused by the powerful influence of peak oil on transportation, politics, and the economy in Southeast Asian oil-producing nations.

pokemon, 2024

Pressure pushes creatures to evolve, making them survive in different specific circumstances. Sculpturing a strange, enormous monster with soft materials to show how fragile but flexible the creature is to the environment, realizing my imagination of how the structure of this "pokemon" would  respond to the space.

heavy floaty, 2022

Many's lifestyle today is completely out of healthy measure, up all night and wake up early in a daily unpredictable basis, exhausted but somehow still have to pretend as an efficient guy who still "living". During this restless period, there were lines of burden coming out of my tiredness senses, I then sculptured them with PVC fabric to form strange floating creatures, scars and strokes on them. The feeling of working hard under tiredness is heavy, but floating.

親冥GO, 2021

In Chinese regions, red packet on ground represents a happening ghost marriage, the invitation will be accepted by the one who pick it up. I decided to challenge the taboo by putting my own red packet with drawing to serve as bait.

If it was picked up,  one will find the QR code behind and have a further contact with me, a ghost marriage agency called 親冥GO.  (video link)

有品彰師人, 2021

This work is made outside the studio for Senior of NCUEART. While we work here day-to-night, for safety and convenience purpose, we would park our bikes in this space which does not interrupt traffic. However, our school official will place a warning on our bike which starting with "有品彰師人(good NCUEs)", follow up with a clamp on wheel. They would insist that all bikes should be parked in the spaces of their choice, which usually are not friendly to every student.

To observe whether the parking would breach campus safety like they said, and to prove these would help our classmates work safer at midnight, I then painted the standard bike parking boxes here.

chain of love, 2021

Inspired by the numerous stinkbugs trapped in the space, however, they seemed reproducing well and kept providing (or sacrificing?) themselves to the predators, completing the food chain in a comedic way. I made the paper sculptures of stinkbug and lizard, nailed them on wall, and captioned with imaginary quotes of them, to speak for the unspeakable neighborhood in this forbidden space.

ordinary humans, 2021

Using scrap papers as medium for sketching, the act of squeezing and twisting became a way to shape human-like paper sculpture. In this installation, I placed them on the wall, and projected them with a strong ray of light to show the dynamic shadows.
